Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration, calling it a 'minority' government that relies heavily on allies JD(U) and TDP.

Addressing an event in Mumbai celebrating the 80th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, Kharge praised the opposition INDIA alliance for limiting the BJP to 240 seats in the recent Lok Sabha elections, a drop from their 2019 tally of 303.

Kharge highlighted that the BJP's political plans are faltering due to the growing number of parties joining the INDIA bloc, which secured 234 Lok Sabha seats. He termed the BJP as 'poison' to be avoided.
