Amid rising political tensions, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has accused the BJP of 'poaching' MLAs and creating societal divisions. The allegations came as speculations intensified about JMM leader Champai Soren's potential defection to the BJP. Hemant Soren spoke at a government function, charging the BJP with importing people from various states to 'spread poison among the tribals, Dalits, backward classes and minorities.'
In a potent critique, the Chief Minister claimed that the BJP's tactics go beyond society, impacting families and political parties alike. He emphasized, 'Money is such a thing that it doesn't take long for politicians to move here and there.'
Meanwhile, Champai Soren, a former Chief Minister, was in Delhi amid the swirling rumors. Addressing the media, he refuted claims of meeting BJP leaders and stated his visit was personal. Additionally, Hemant Soren questioned the independence of the Election Commission, alleging its influence by the BJP and challenging their electoral strength in Jharkhand.
