Stalin Aims for DMK's Resounding Victory in 2026 Assembly Elections

M K Stalin, DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, rallied party cadres to focus efforts on securing a majority in the 2026 Assembly elections. With targets set at 200 seats, he emphasized the importance of converting the government's welfare initiatives into votes, following their success in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

M K Stalin, the DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, called on party members Friday to gear their efforts towards ensuring a sweeping victory in the 2026 Assembly elections. Speaking at a district secretaries' meeting, Stalin set an ambitious target of winning 200 seats out of 234.

He credited the current administration's successful projects and programs for earning the people's favor, urging party workers to convert these initiatives into votes. 'We have been on a winning streak since 2019,' he said, highlighting their clean sweep in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, securing all 40 seats.

Stalin also announced his upcoming visit to the US to attract foreign investments for Tamil Nadu, while ensuring he would oversee preparations for the DMK's platinum jubilee celebrations. The meeting also passed resolutions thanking the Central government for issuing a Rs 100 coin to honor former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and condemning the state's neglect in the Union Budget.
