BJP Demands Mamata Banerjee's Resignation Over Rape and Murder Case

BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on Friday demanded that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee resign, alleging her complicity in shielding the perpetrators of the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at R J Kar Medical College on August 9.
During a press conference, Poonawalla criticized the INDIA bloc for their silence on this issue. He claimed that West Bengal lacked the rule of law and accused Banerjee of prioritizing the protection of the culprits, who were allegedly linked to the TMC.
Highlighting the case of Sanjoy Roy, an accused with prior complaints of domestic violence, Poonawalla stated, ''Mamata Banerjee, you must immediately resign.'' He also accused the opposition of engaging in selective outrage based on political and social factors.
