Delhi's Modern Freedom Fighter: Kailash Gahlot Hails Kejriwal's Resolve

During the 78th Independence Day celebrations, Delhi Home Minister Kailash Gahlot praised Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as a 'modern freedom fighter'. He highlighted Kejriwal's efforts in improving education, healthcare, and transport in Delhi, despite his imprisonment over an excise policy case. Gahlot emphasized the strength and resilience of India's democracy.

Delhi Home Minister Kailash Gahlot, who hoisted the national flag at the Chhatrasal stadium on the 78th Independence Day, hailed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as a 'freedom fighter' punished for working for the people.

Expressing distress, Gahlot noted that an elected chief minister couldn't hoist the national flag due to his imprisonment. 'Standing under this flag, I can say proudly that Arvind Kejriwal is a modern-day freedom fighter because he accepted the punishment for working for Delhi's people by going to jail, but did not bow down before anti-democratic forces,' he declared.

Gahlot highlighted that India's democracy is resilient, pointing to the recent bail of former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia as an example. He also expressed hope that Kejriwal would be granted bail soon. The minister listed the government's achievements in education, healthcare, and transport, asserting that the Aam Aadmi Party will continue to provide essential services despite obstacles.
