Vinay Mohan Kwatra has officially assumed the role of India's Ambassador to the United States, pledging to strengthen the vital partnership between the two nations.
Kwatra, who retired as India's Foreign Secretary on July 14, arrived in the US capital on Monday. He takes over from Taranjit Singh Sandhu, who served as India's top diplomat in the US from 2020 to 2024 before retiring early this year.
Kwatra expressed his privilege in taking up the post through a statement on social media platform X, highlighting the ongoing dedication of his team at the Indian Embassy in the US. He brings a wealth of experience, having served as Minister of Commerce in the Indian Embassy as well as Ambassador to France and Nepal before his role as Foreign Secretary in New Delhi.
