Kerala High Court Upholds UDF MLA's Election Win

The Kerala High Court sustained the election of UDF MLA Najeeb Kanthapuram from the Perinthalmanna constituency in 2021. Justice C S Sudha dismissed an election petition by K P Mohammed Musthafa, who contested Kanthapuram's slim victory margin. Musthafa argued that 348 postal ballots were improperly discarded.

The Kerala High Court has validated the electoral victory of UDF MLA Najeeb Kanthapuram from the Perinthalmanna assembly constituency in the 2021 elections.

Justice C S Sudha dismissed the petition filed by K P Mohammed Musthafa, who narrowly lost to Kanthapuram by 38 votes.

Musthafa had alleged that 348 postal ballots were improperly rejected during the vote count, challenging the legitimacy of Kanthapuram's win.
