At a recent event for the launch of academician Mujibur Rehman's book, 'Shikwa-e-Hind: The Political Future of Indian Muslims,' Congress leader Salman Khurshid raised concerns about potential unrest in India, similar to Bangladesh, despite an appearance of normalcy.

Khurshid emphasized that the 2024 political victory was marginal and signaled unmet ambitions. He compared the situation to the successful yet suppressed Shaheen Bagh protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act, where participants still face imprisonment and persecution.

Other speakers at the event, including RJD MP Manoj Jha and AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi, discussed the socio-political marginalization of Muslims in India. They highlighted widespread participation of diverse communities in the protests and criticized the political establishment's lack of progress in addressing Muslim representation and rights.
