Chaos erupted in the Rajasthan Assembly on Tuesday as Congress legislators vociferously protested the suspension of party MLA Mukesh Bhakar, who was also present in the House.

Around 11.45 am, proceedings were halted after a protesting MLA fell ill, leading to a half-hour adjournment.

The protesting Congress legislators staged an overnight dharna within the assembly premises to object to Bhakar's suspension over alleged indecent behaviour.

As the House reconvened at 11 am, Congress members continued raising slogans. Speaker Vasudev Devnani repeatedly requested them to return to their seats, but his pleas were ignored.

Devnani stated that he would address Congress members after Question Hour and urged the demonstrators to send Bhakar out.

During the uproar, Congress MLA Ramila Khadiya became unwell, prompting the Speaker to call for her to be taken to the hospital and subsequently adjourn the House.

Question Hour commenced with RLD MLA Subhash Garg querying about cyber fraud cases in Bharatpur. During Zero Hour, the assembly planned to discuss three call attention motions and disaster management in the state.

On Monday, Chairperson Sandeep Sharma directed marshals to evict Bhakar from the House, but other Congress MLAs intervened. This confrontation led to one MLA falling and another suffering broken bangles.

Congress members, continuing their protest, staged a dharna in the Well of the House, disregarding the chairperson's adjournment order for the day. Around 50 Congress legislators maintained their protest overnight.

Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully shared a picture of the overnight dharna on X, highlighting the intensity of the protest against Bhakar's suspension, which Speaker Devnani attributed to Bhakar's indecent behaviour.
