High Alert: Indo-Bangladesh Border Tense Amid Unrest

The Indo-Bangladesh border region in West Bengal is on high alert following unrest in neighboring Bangladesh, officials reported on Monday.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has urged residents to maintain calm and avoid provocation. The turmoil has disrupted trade and transport, with Air India and IndiGo canceling flights to Dhaka and bus and train services affected.
BSF sources confirmed a high alert along the 4,096-km border, monitoring movements to prevent any untoward incidents. BSF Director General (Acting) Daljit Singh Chawdhary and senior commanders reviewed security in the North 24 Parganas and Sundarbans regions.
