Nepal's Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli expanded his council of ministers on Friday, inducting three new ministers of state. The appointments include Arun Kumar Chaudhary as minister of state for Tourism, Culture and Civil Aviation; Rupa BK as minister of state for Forest and Environment; and Purna Bahadur Tamang as minister of state for Energy and Irrigation.
The notice, released by the President's Office, states that the decision was made on the recommendation of Prime Minister Oli. Rupa BK and Tamang belong to the Nepali Congress, while Chaudhary represents the Nagarik Unmukti Party.
This expansion brings the total number of ministers in Oli's council to 25. Oli was appointed as Nepal's Prime Minister for a fourth term last month, with support from the Nepali Congress. He succeeded Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, who lost a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives.
