Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday convened a crucial meeting with chief ministers and deputy chief ministers from BJP-governed states to address a range of issues, primarily focusing on maximizing the reach of numerous welfare schemes.

Sources revealed that Modi commended the efforts of BJP-led governments in aiding various societal segments, particularly the underprivileged. He emphasized the party's dedication to good governance and meeting public aspirations on X, formerly Twitter, stating, 'Our Party is working tirelessly to further good governance and fulfil the aspirations of the people.' Regular reviews by the 'mukhyamantri parishad' aim to ensure the efficacy of state schemes and central government initiatives.

Attendees included Union ministers Amit Shah and J P Nadda, and chief ministers Yogi Adityanath (Uttar Pradesh), Himanta Biswa Sarma (Assam), Bhajanlal Sharma (Rajasthan), and Mohan Charan Majhi (Odisha). Chief ministers from Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Haryana, Manipur, and Chhattisgarh were also present. The leaders reviewed the political situation and discussed governance following the Union budget presentation, which has been criticized by the opposition for allegedly favoring certain states. The meeting also addressed the BJP's performance in recent Lok Sabha elections, particularly their loss of majority in the Lower House.
