Top U.S. General Criticizes Israel's Lack of Post-War Planning for Gaza

Air Force General C.Q. Brown, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, announced on Thursday that Israel has not provided sufficient details about its 'day after' plan for Gaza following the war with Hamas. This statement comes on the heels of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to Congress, which offered only a vague outline for a post-war Gaza.

'There's not a lot of detail that I've been able to see from a plan from them,' Brown revealed during a Pentagon press conference. 'This is something that we'll continue to work with them on.' Washington has consistently urged Israel to create a realistic post-war plan for Gaza to prevent lawlessness, chaos, and a potential resurgence of Hamas.

Despite numerous discussions, a clear post-war roadmap remains elusive. Netanyahu did not discuss a pathway to Palestinian statehood in his congressional speech, a topic strongly opposed by his far-right coalition but supported by the Biden administration. The conflict, initiated by Hamas on October 7, has resulted in significant casualties and devastation in Gaza.
