Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange revealed that the strategy for the forthcoming Maharashtra assembly elections will be declared on August 29. Jarange stated that he and his followers will support any political party or leader committed to securing reservation for the Maratha community.

Opposition from BJP leaders has been rising, questioning why Jarange has not criticized NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar or Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray, who they accuse of failing to achieve Maratha reservation. BJP MLA Ashish Shelar particularly criticized Jarange for not holding these leaders accountable.

Jarange reassured his commitment to the cause while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, following a hunger strike. BJP officials, including Pravin Darekar and Prasad Lad, have echoed Shelar's concerns, asserting that Jarange does not represent the entire Maratha community.
