Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has fiercely criticized the Union Budget, branding it a symbol of economic mismanagement and financial recklessness by the government. Addressing the Lok Sabha, Tharoor accused the BJP of prioritizing rhetoric over action.

Tharoor also criticized the BJP for renaming Ayushman wellness centres as Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, arguing it politicizes public health initiatives. He claimed that the budget missed a crucial opportunity to address pressing issues, such as healthcare and economic stability. He further alleged that the government's focus on regional allies neglected the broader needs of the nation.

Tharoor pointed out that the budget offers no substantial solutions for employment, education, or health, accusing it of being a collection of schemes without a coherent strategy. He concluded that the budget was more about political maneuvering than economic progress.
