Hunter Biden has voluntarily withdrawn his lawsuit against Fox News for airing nude photos and videos of him in a fictionalized 'mock trial' show centered on his foreign dealings, according to a Sunday court filing by his attorneys. The filing did not cite any reason for the dismissal.
ABC News reported that Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, intends to refile the suit targeting new defendants. A Fox News Media spokesperson reiterated previous statements that the lawsuit is 'politically motivated' and 'devoid of merit.' Both Hunter Biden's and Fox News's legal teams and representatives declined to comment.
The controversial TV series, 'The Trial of Hunter Biden: A Mock Trial for the American People,' was streamed on Fox Nation in October 2022. It was removed in April 2023 after threats of legal action by Hunter Biden's lawyers. The series presented a fictitious trial alleging illegal foreign lobbying and bribery, including explicit images and videos. The lawsuit's dismissal comes shortly after Joe Biden exited the 2024 presidential race amid party pressure.
