Bharatiya Janata Party leader Locket Chatterjee on Wednesday alleged that Hindu voters were blocked from voting in the by-elections. "There was no election in the by-election... in the polls, no one was allowed to vote. Suvendu da also said that Hindu people were not allowed to vote," Chatterjee told ANI.

In a significant blow, the BJP lost all four seats in the recently held Assembly by-polls to the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC). "Winning and losing is a part of elections. But it is not that the West Bengal BJP has come to an end or that there is a need for a new formation. Our vote percentage did not reduce. BJP is the biggest party in the country. Our next mission is 2026," Chatterjee said.

Earlier, West Bengal Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari had alleged that more than 50 lakh Hindus were prevented from voting in the Lok Sabha polls, and over two lakh were refrained from voting in the by-polls. Adhikari announced plans to commence a legal battle against the alleged voter suppression. "Democracy is dead in Bengal. We have started a mass movement today. Nearly 50 lakh Hindus were not allowed to vote in the Lok Sabha elections. More than 2 lakh Hindus were not allowed to vote in the 4 by-polls held in the state. I am launching a portal. Whoever was not allowed to vote can register, and full secrecy will be ensured. I will start a legal battle also," he stated.

Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress continued its winning streak, securing all four seats in the West Bengal Assembly by-polls, three of which were previously held by BJP. In the recent Lok Sabha elections, the BJP's seat count in West Bengal dropped from 18 to 12, while TMC secured 29 out of the 42 seats. (ANI)
