C B Suresh Babu Appointed JD(S) Party Leader in Karnataka Assembly

Senior JD(S) MLA C B Suresh Babu has been officially appointed as the party's leader in the Karnataka Assembly, Speaker U T Khader confirmed on Monday. This appointment follows the vacancy created by JD(S) leader and Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy's election to the Lok Sabha.

Khader informed the House that on July 14, JD(S) state President H D Kumaraswamy submitted a letter designating Chikkanayakanahalli MLA C B Suresh Babu as the new JD(S) party leader in the Assembly, a position that has now been recognized officially.

Kumaraswamy had earlier resigned as the MLA from Channapatna segment after winning his Lok Sabha seat in the recent elections, necessitating this new appointment.
