In a show of solidarity, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his support for former US President Donald Trump, following a shocking assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. Trump, aged 78, sustained injuries to his right ear when a young shooter fired multiple shots at him.

Sarma highlighted that right-wing leaders worldwide are increasingly becoming targets for radical left factions. He emphasized, however, that these attacks would not thwart the 'nation first' ideology and extended his best wishes to Trump.

The incident also resulted in the death of one rally attendee and left two others in serious condition. The 20-year-old assailant was subsequently shot and killed by a member of the Secret Service.
