Amid the surge in terrorist attacks in Jammu, Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh announced on Saturday that comprehensive measures are being implemented to address the issue and restore normalcy. Singh assured the public that these efforts aim to bolster confidence and ensure public order.

Singh emphasized that the results of these measures will soon be evident, with normalcy expected to return within a week. He also issued a stern warning to local terror facilitators, calling for societal vigilance and cooperation in combating terrorism in the region.

The Union MoS further stated that individuals involved in illegal crushers, unauthorized mining, or land encroachment will face stringent action, regardless of their influence or public standing. "There will be no compromise in dealing with illegal activities and drug peddlers," he declared.

Singh condemned illegal mining activities that erode critical infrastructure like the Keediyan Gandyal bridges and criticized those who profit from drug trafficking at the expense of others' children. The statement was made during a nearly three-hour public hearing where Singh, along with senior officials, addressed citizens' grievances on the spot.

Highlighting the link between illegal activities and terrorism, Singh warned that exemplary and punitive actions would be taken against offenders, irrespective of their political connections. The local administration has already acted against 25 illegal crushers, with additional actions against nearly a dozen more crushers in the pipeline.
