A dynamite explosion in Saltora, Bankura, resulted in the deaths of two individuals on Friday night, according to reports. Opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari revealed that the deceased, identified as Joydeb Mandal and another person, were transporting dynamite for illegal mining activities.

Adhikari took to social media to announce the incident, specifying that both mandal and his companion were carrying dynamite on their motorcycle intended for illicit mining. "Illegal mining activities resumed in Saltora after TMC's Arup Chakraborty was elected as MP with the local police's connivance," Adhikari alleged.

He demanded the National Investigation Agency (NIA) investigate the involvement of TMC leaders in the illegal activities. Furthermore, Adhikari accused local police of attempting to cover up the incident by hastily cremating the bodies. He called upon West Bengal Police's Director General and Bankura Police to ensure the bodies were not cremated without a proper post-mortem and a thorough inquiry was conducted.
