Shockwaves in Malda: TMC Councillor Dulal Sarkar's Tragic Murder
TMC councillor Dulal Sarkar was shot dead by unidentified assailants in West Bengal's Malda district. Known as Babla, Sarkar was attacked by bike-borne gunmen. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her grief and blamed the local police's negligence for the tragedy. Two suspects have been arrested.

In a shocking incident, Trinamool Congress councillor Dulal Sarkar, known affectionately as Babla, was brutally murdered in West Bengal's Malda district. The attack, carried out by unidentified, bike-borne assailants, occurred on Thursday morning at Jhaljhalia More area, resulting in multiple gunshot wounds to Sarkar's head.
The councillor was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, also the TMC leader, expressed profound shock and mourned the loss of Sarkar, describing him as a dedicated party worker from the TMC's inception.
In a statement, Banerjee criticized the alleged negligence of the Malda SP, partly blaming the laxity in security measures for the tragedy. Authorities have since arrested two suspects in connection with the crime, intensifying efforts to find all those responsible.
