In the latest developments from West Bengal, Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidates are leading in by-polls held for four assembly seats, as per the Election Commission of India's website.

The by-polls, conducted on July 10, cover the Maniktala, Bagda, Ranaghat Dakshin, and Raiganj assembly seats. Initial counts indicate TMC's Supti Pandey leads in Maniktala, Krishna Kalyani in Raiganj, Madhuparna Thakur in Bagda, and Mukut Mani Adhikari in Ranaghat Dakshin.

The by-elections came after these seats were vacated by former BJP winners who switched to TMC or aimed for Lok Sabha positions. Notably, the BJP had secured three of these segments during the 2021 assembly polls.
