Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has firmly denied rumors suggesting 'adjustment politics' in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, attributing the party's limited success to other factors. Speaking at a press briefing on Friday, Shivakumar, who also serves as the state Congress president, clarified that Congress workers had fiercely campaigned for the elections.

The fact-finding committee led by senior leader Madhusudan Mistry was established to examine the party's performance. Shivakumar acknowledged the committee's discussion with winners, losers, party workers, and leaders, and mentioned that feedback has been collected for future planning. Despite these efforts, the Congress managed to secure only nine out of 28 seats in Karnataka, while the opposition BJP and its ally, JD(S), won 19 seats.

Responding to allegations of 'adjustment politics' and administrative shortcomings, Shivakumar dismissed such claims, noting that ministers had mobilized votes by fielding family members. He also accused the BJP of politicizing issues ahead of the upcoming assembly session and promised a fitting response during the session.
