Kharge Criticizes BJP's Divisive Policies on Independence Day

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge lambasted the BJP-led government on the 78th Independence Day, accusing it of promoting divisive thinking and misusing Partition Horrors Remembrance Day to spread hatred. He stressed on the sacrifices made by numerous freedom fighters for India's independence and urged the government to address issues like unemployment, economic inequality, and corruption.

On the occasion of the 78th Independence Day, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched a severe critique of the BJP-led government, accusing it of fostering divisive ideologies. In his address at the AICC headquarters, Kharge claimed that the observance of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day was aimed at spreading hatred.

Highlighting the sacrifices made for India's independence, Kharge said, 'Unity in diversity is our strength and not a weakness.' He argued that present rulers are ignoring the inclusive legacy left by the freedom fighters and are, instead, encouraging a divided society. 'They mark Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas with the intention of spreading hatred,' he added.

Kharge also pointed out the ongoing issues in India such as unemployment, price rise, and corruption during the Modi government's tenure. He emphasized that the country demands social, economic, and political justice, and urged Congress workers to engage with the public and support Rahul Gandhi, whose Bharat Jodo Yatra has reinvigorated hopes for change.
