West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday claimed that the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre is unstable and may not complete its term.

During her visit to Mumbai, Banerjee met Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray at his residence 'Matoshree' in Bandra. She also scheduled a meeting with NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar.

At a press conference with Thackeray, Banerjee remarked, 'This government may not continue. This is not a stable government.' She further commented on the Union government's decision to label June 25, the date the Emergency was imposed in 1975, as 'Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas', criticizing the current administration for similar actions.

Banerjee pointed out that the new laws, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), were passed without consulting stakeholders, amid the suspension of many MPs. She argued that these moves have caused widespread fear.

The West Bengal CM also stressed that her Trinamool Congress party cannot align with the Communist Party of India (Marxist) due to past conflicts. Banerjee criticized the allocation of Shiv Sena's name and symbol to the faction led by Eknath Shinde and expressed support for Thackeray in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly polls.
