A growing coalition of Democrats in Congress is urging President Joe Biden to end his re-election campaign following a concerning debate performance against Donald Trump. Biden, 81, faced criticism from lawmakers who argue it's time for new leadership.
Representative Greg Stanton of Arizona stated, 'For the sake of American democracy, and to continue to make progress on our shared priorities, I believe it is time for the President to step aside as our nominee.'
Senator Peter Welch of Vermont added in his Washington Post opinion piece, 'For the good of the country, I'm calling on President Biden to withdraw from the race.'
