Shiv Sena (UBT) chief, Uddhav Thackeray, on Thursday urged the Maharashtra government to enact a complete waiver of farm loans before the state assembly elections scheduled for later this year.

During a press conference, Thackeray labeled the ongoing monsoon session of the state legislature as the 'send-off' session for the Mahayuti government led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

'There should be a complete waiver of farm loans immediately, and this should be implemented before the state polls,' Thackeray insisted. The government is set to present its budget on Friday.

Taking a jab at both the central and state governments, Thackeray referred to them as 'leakages government,' alluding to issues like the NEET exam leak and reports of water leaks at the Ayodhya Ram temple.
