Tragic Street Incident: Taxi Driver's Act Sparks Outrage in Gurugram

A taxi driver in Gurugram faces legal action after fatally running over a stray dog and dragging it, an incident caught on CCTV. The police have registered an FIR following a complaint by social worker Suman Mishra, and the dog's body will be exhumed for a postmortem.

A shocking incident unfolded in Gurugram, where a stray dog sleeping on a street was crushed to death by a taxi, prompting police to register an FIR against the driver. The harrowing event was captured on CCTV, which shows the driver reversing and dragging the lifeless animal.

Social worker Suman Mishra lodged a complaint after being informed by a local resident, Neetu, about the incident on Surat Nagar's street number 17. The driver, identified as Nadeem, reportedly ran over the dog and repeated the act when reversing the vehicle.

The police confirmed that an FIR has been filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Rajendra Park police station. Authorities plan to exhume the dog's body for postmortem as part of the legal proceedings against the accused driver.
