The Delhi High Court has decided to withdraw judicial responsibilities from Justice Yashwant Varma with immediate effect. This development follows the purported discovery of a large amount of cash after a fire incident at his residence. An inquiry into the matter is currently underway.

The decision came to light through a notice on Monday, with the court confirming the reassignment of cases previously handled by Justice Varma. Justice Prathiba M Singh will now head Division Bench-III. Meanwhile, a special committee, constituted by Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna, is probing the allegations against Justice Varma.

Amid these developments, Justice Varma has firmly denied any wrongdoing. In a statement, he dismissed the allegations as a conspiracy intended to tarnish his reputation, asserting that he and his family had no involvement in storing cash at their residence.
