The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has lodged an FIR against three officials from the railway department for allegedly manipulating a recruitment examination to secure a job for a candidate in return for Rs 15 lakh, reported officials on Saturday.
This development arose from a reference made by the vigilance department of the Central Railway, authorities confirmed. Those identified in the FIR include Goods Train Manager Rajendra Kumar Meena, Assistant TRD Helper Sapna Meena, and Tech-II Chetram Meena, all associated with the Kota division of the West Central Railway. Lakshmi Meena, a private individual accused of impersonating a candidate, was also named.
The CBI alleges that Sapna Meena, colluding with the others, facilitated the fraudulent recruitment by substituting a dummy candidate, complete with fake identities and fingerprints. The agency conducted searches at the residences of the accused in the Rajasthan districts of Kota and Sawai Madhopur, according to an official statement.
