In the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, growing concerns were voiced over the proliferation of online betting and gambling applications. Maddila Gurumoorthy of the YSR Congress Party called for a dedicated task force under the cyber crime department to tackle these platforms that continue to operate by circumventing government controls.

Gurumoorthy highlighted the need for rigorous regulations and awareness campaigns, emphasizing that the allure of quick financial gains leads to fraud, theft, and tragic events like youth suicides. He urged the government to act swiftly to curb these digital threats.

Moreover, the need for legal changes to secure bank deposits and adequate representation for marginalized communities were discussed, alongside proposals for systemic healthcare reforms to support nurses across the nation.
