Crackdown in Punjab: De-Addiction Scandal Exposed

In a significant development, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Wednesday announced the arrest of Amit Bansal, a Chandigarh resident, on charges of engaging in illegal activities across 22 de-addiction centers in the state.
According to an official statement, Drug Inspector Rooppreet Kaur, linked to the case, will also face arrest soon. Bansal has been accused of exploiting treatment tablets intended for patients and distributing them illicitly in the market.
A Vigilance Bureau spokesperson revealed that inspections and employee disclosures have unearthed a substantial recovery of tablets and money, further exposing the network's depth. Reports confirm discrepancies in inventory accounts, hinting at collusion between Kaur and Bansal to cover up the misconduct.
