In a dramatic turn of events, a notorious gangster, Shushil Mochi, was fatally shot in a confrontation with law enforcement officers in Bihar's Purnea district. The incident took place after sustained efforts by the police to apprehend the criminal with a Rs 2 lakh bounty on his head.
Reports indicate that Mochi was a wanted figure in both Bihar and West Bengal for his involvement in several high-profile dacoity cases. The Special Task Force of the Bihar Police had been meticulously monitoring his movements for days.
On Friday night, acting on precise information, a joint operation by the STF and district police zeroed in on Baysi area where Mochi was believed to be hiding. As the police advanced, he attempted to flee and opened fire, prompting the officers to retaliate, ultimately killing him, according to SDPO Aditya Kumar.
