Thane Police Foil Infant Trafficking Attempt
Thane police prevented the sale of a 45-day-old girl and arrested four individuals, including the infant's mother. Acting on a tip-off, a sting operation led to the arrest of the perpetrators who aimed to sell the baby for Rs 4 lakh. The infants were rescued and relocated.

The Thane city police have successfully thwarted a disturbing attempt to sell a 45-day-old infant girl, resulting in the arrest of four individuals, including the child's mother. An official report on Wednesday confirmed the operation.
According to police, a tactical operation was carried out using a decoy customer. The suspects demanded Rs 4 lakh during their meeting near a hotel in Kalyan. Once the staged transaction was completed, law enforcement intervened and made the arrests.
The suspects have been identified as Vaishali Kishore Sonawane, Deepali Anil Dusing, Rekha Balu Sonawane, and Kishore Ramesh Sonawane. The rescued infant and her siblings have been placed in care, as financial desperation led the mother to consider selling her daughter.
