A Delhi court is poised to determine the jurisdiction of the alleged terror funding case involving jailed Baramulla MP, Engineer Rashid. The decision is expected on November 20, regarding the potential transfer of the case to the designated MP/MLA court.
Additional Sessions Judge Chander Jit Singh underscored the significance of the jurisdiction issue, as Rashid is currently an MP. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has requested more time to present their arguments, leading to an adjournment of the matter.
Rashid, who received interim bail to campaign for Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, surrendered after the period ended. The court previously arrested him under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for alleged involvement in a 2017 terror funding case.
