NeGD Hosts Third ‘Ask Our Experts’ Session on Academic Bank of Credits and National Academic Depository

The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), under India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), broadcasted the third installment of its exclusive weekly series, Ask Our Experts, on November 8, 2024. This episode delved into the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) and National Academic Depository (NAD) initiatives, part of the Digital India Programme.

Aimed at fostering direct engagement with citizens, Ask Our Experts is a weekly, live-streamed program on Digital India’s YouTube channel. It provides a platform for citizens to interact with government officials and specialists on topics related to India’s digital transformation, such as Digital India’s numerous initiatives.

The third episode focused on the central academic repository and the integration between the ABC and NAD systems. The ABC-NAD framework offers a digital storage space for academic records, enhancing credit transfer, supporting lifelong learning, and simplifying mobility for students and educators across India. The platform also integrates with DigiLocker, providing secure access to verified educational credentials for students, parents, teachers, academic institutions, and administrators.

Significant Engagement and Recognition of Top Participants

Thousands of viewers tuned in to the session, asking questions about the mechanics, benefits, and regulations surrounding ABC and NAD. In recognition of their insightful questions, five participants were celebrated as Digital India Question Ninjas, with awards given for their active engagement.
