Haryana's Director General of Police, Shatrujeet Kapur, has called for proactive measures to prevent crime before it occurs, as well as strict actions against offenders, all while displaying empathy towards the general public. His remarks were made during a strategic meeting with senior police officers held in Panchkula.
Addressing an array of issues, from crime control to public grievance resolutions, Kapur stressed that criminals should feel apprehended while citizens live fearlessly. The meeting, attended virtually by state superintendents of police, included discussions on the implementation of new criminal laws and the importance of monitoring those with criminal tendencies.
Emphasizing police personnel training, Kapur proposed a recognition system for well-performing officers and accountability for those shirking responsibilities. He underscored the need for officers to provide prompt and effective responses to public complaints, ensuring follow-up and feedback mechanisms to address any dissatisfaction.
