Parents Receive Daughter's Skull 18 Years Post Tragedy
Parents finally receive the skull of their daughter Sofia, killed 18 years ago. She was murdered in Goa and her remains used as evidence. The skull was handed over by a court, allowing her family to perform last rites in accordance with their customs. Her killer is serving life imprisonment.

The grief-stricken parents of Sofia, a teenage girl killed 18 years ago, have finally received her skull from a local court. In a tragic closure, the court in Coorg handed over the remains, enabling the family to conduct ceremonial last rites.
Recovered some time after her death, the skull was crucial in the murder trial. Locals and relatives gathered solemnly at the court, witnessing the moment the remains were returned.
Sofia had worked as a maid in Goa where she met a grim fate at the hands of K C Hamsa. Convicted of her murder, Hamsa's death sentence later commuted to life, and the family returned home to bury Sofia's remains with dignity.
