In a significant move to bolster regional security, security forces have successfully seized a plethora of arms, ammunition, and IEDs in Manipur's hill and valley districts. According to a statement issued by Assam Rifles on Monday, a series of search operations over the past three days led to the successful recovery.
Saturday's joint operation by Assam Rifles and Manipur police in L Khonomphai village in Churachandpur district uncovered an assortment of weaponry including a .303 rifle, pistols, single barrel rifles, ammunition and war-like stores. This effort was mirrored by another operation in Kangpokpi district which yielded rifles, grenades, and improvised launchers.
Another coordinated mission on Sunday, involving Assam Rifles, Manipur Police, and BSF, was launched based on intelligence inputs. This operation in Kakching district led to the seizure of war-like stores, underscoring the effective collaboration between Indian Army and law enforcement agencies. All seized items have been handed over to the Manipur Police.
