In a significant development, Punjab police apprehended two shooters linked to Canada-based Khalistani extremist Arshdeep Singh Gill on Sunday. The arrest was in connection with the recent murder of parolee Jaswant Singh Gill in Gwalior. The murder is believed to be a result of an old enmity.
Gwalior Superintendent of Police Dharamveer Singh disclosed that the shooters, identified as Navjot Singh alias Neetu and Anmolpreet Singh alias Vishal, were contacted by Satpal, who sought vengeance for his brother's murder eight years ago. Satpal is reportedly residing in Canada, but visits India sporadically.
Authorities are investigating whether Gill played a role in the contract killing while noting that the shooters are also wanted for another murder case in Punjab. Cooperation between Gwalior and Punjab police was pivotal in tracking down and arresting the suspects, who have connections to Arsh Dalla's gang.
