In a significant development that could further strain India-Canada diplomatic relations, Khalistani extremist Arshdeep Singh Gill, known as Arsh Dalla, reportedly faces arrest in Canada's Ontario for a shooting incident in Milton. Sources confirmed that an arrest followed a police investigation, though the identities of the detained individuals remain undisclosed.
The Halton Regional Police Service announced on October 29 the capture of two men charged with 'discharging firearm with intent'. While neither suspect's name was officially confirmed, Arsh Dalla, linked to the Khalistan Tiger Force, is believed to be involved. The arrest connects to broader issues of terror-linked criminal activities that affect Canada-India relations.
Meanwhile, Punjab Police in India reported the capture of two shooters associated with Dalla's gang for a separate incident, underscoring the ongoing challenges posed by Khalistani networks. The developments come with New Delhi seeking Dalla's extradition—a move tangled in the contentious issue of Canada's alleged sheltering of Khalistani elements.
