In a shocking incident in Kushinagar, a Class 10 student was brutally murdered while asleep at her home, with three individuals arrested in connection with the case, police revealed on Saturday.
The horrifying event unfolded Friday night as Priya Singh and her father, Jaynarayan Singh, were sleeping in their home, while the rest of the family attended Chhath Puja celebrations.
Masked intruders allegedly broke into the house, fatally slitting Priya's throat and injuring her father with a sharp weapon. Although wounded, Jaynarayan managed to raise an alarm, prompting the assailants to flee.
Police arrived soon after, sending the victim's body for a post-mortem examination. Following a written complaint, authorities registered a case against three individuals—Keshwar Singh, 48; Madan Singh, 40; and Kishor Kushwaha, 40—on Saturday, leading to their arrest, according to Additional Superintendent of Police Ritesh Kumar Singh.
The police are intensifying their investigation to determine the motive behind this heinous crime, officials confirmed.
