Police in Madhya Pradesh's Burhanpur successfully conducted a raid on Friday, seizing beef from a residential house. According to Superintendent of Police Devendra Patidar, the raid was conducted after receiving intelligence about illegal cow slaughtering activities involving Afzal and Chandu Qureshi, residents of the Ganpati Naka area.
Though the principal suspects managed to evade police capture during the operation, law enforcement recovered objectionable tools related to the slaughter. Authorities stated the seized meat included that from two slaughtered bulls, and registered cases against the individuals involved.
The case has been filed under the MP Gauvansh Vadh Pratishedh Adhiniyam 2024 and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. The Ganpati Naka police station continues investigations to apprehend the fugitives, while the incident ignites ongoing discussions on animal protection laws.
