The Working Committee of Naga National Political Groups (WC, NNPGs) expressed optimism this year that a defining agreement addressing the Naga political issue could soon be finalized with the Indian government.
An official statement from the WC NNPGs announced hopes for the signing of an agreement by 2024, aligning Nagaland with Prime Minister's vision for 2047.
Negotiations between the WC NNPGs, consisting of seven Naga underground groups, and the Indian government commenced in 2017. The agreement is anticipated to introduce economic reforms, improve infrastructure, and promote growth through healthcare, education, and technology advancements.
