A tragic accident claimed two lives and left two others seriously injured when a trailer truck collided with pedestrians in Purpur village, authorities confirmed Wednesday.

The victims were shopping for utensils for the Dhanteras festival when the truck, headed to Prayagraj, struck. The deceased, identified as Subhash Mali, 35, and Suraj Yadav, 20, died instantly. The shopkeeper, Phoolchand Patel, alongside an unidentified buyer, were severely injured and transported to a nearby hospital.

Local residents quickly apprehended the truck's driver and conductor, handing them over to the authorities. An investigation is currently underway as per Mungra Badshahpur Police Station SHO Santosh Pathak. Charges have been filed based on the victims' families' complaints.
