North Korea's Missile Movements: A November Launch Looms
North Korea has positioned a launcher in anticipation of potentially launching an intercontinental ballistic missile in November. South Korean military intelligence provided this information to MPs, speculating the test could coincide with the U.S. presidential election. The missile has not yet been loaded onto the launcher.
North Korea is reportedly moving closer to a potential launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile, with preparations complete and a mobile launcher positioned, according to South Korean military intelligence.
South Korean MP Lee Seong-kweun revealed that the deployment site is set for testing the ICBM, possibly aligning with the U.S. presidential election on November 5. This disclosure followed a confidential briefing with Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) officials.
While another MP, Park Sun-won, indicated that the missile has not yet been mounted, officials warned of North Korea's likely bid to display its strategic capabilities through either a missile launch or a nuclear test during this time.
