Tragedy Strikes: Former Religious Leader Shot Dead in Hazaribag

A former president of Hazaribagh's local religious committee, Manjit Yadav, was shot dead by Vivek Soni in a suspected land dispute. The incident occurred as Yadav left his home on Tuesday morning. Yadav's supporters protested, blocking NH-33 before the police intervened.

In a shocking incident that has shaken the community, a former religious leader was shot dead in Jharkhand’s Hazaribag district on Tuesday morning. According to police sources, the assailant has been identified as Vivek Soni and has been taken into custody.

The victim, Manjit Yadav, aged 50, was the ex-president of the ‘Hazaribagh Ramnavami Mahasamiti’. The shooting took place at around 8 am when Yadav was leaving his residence. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Yadav succumbed to his injuries.

The police, led by Superintendent Arvind Kumar Singh, suspect a land dispute as the motive behind the killing. Yadav was recently released on bail after serving time for criminal charges. Supporters expressed their outrage by blocking NH-33, causing a temporary disruption until the police restored order.
