In Maharashtra's Nagpur, police have tracked down Jagdish Uikey, a 35-year-old author from Gondia, as the mastermind behind numerous hoax bomb threats. These threats have sparked widespread panic and led to flight delays, prompting heightened security at airports and various establishments, according to an official statement.
The Nagpur city police's special branch, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shweta Khedkar, conducted an investigation that linked Uikey to the emails responsible for the scare. These emails were sent to key government bodies, including the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and other notable officials, as confirmed by the senior police official.
Current efforts to apprehend Uikey are underway, as he remains at large. Infamously, 13 days up to October 26 saw over 300 flights affected by these threats, primarily issued via social media. A dedicated team has been assembled to bring Uikey into custody swiftly, as public and official safety remains a priority.
