Dr. Balaji, a victim of a stabbing incident at the Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Government Hospital, has recovered and is now in stable condition, according to hospital director L Parthasarathy. Dr. Balaji is conscious and responding well, much to the relief of his family. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has also extended his support to the injured doctor.
In response to the incident, significant security measures have been implemented. Police outposts were established overnight, and 60 policemen have been deployed to the hospital to ensure safety amid doctors' protests. The hospital's director affirmed efforts to safeguard patients and staff, while acknowledging the challenges in compelling medical personnel to resume duties.
Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian confirmed the arrest of the accused, who was apprehended by hospital security and subsequently charged. Despite token protests by doctors, medical services remain largely unaffected. The state government, in discussions with doctors' unions, has worked to address concerns and maintain stability in healthcare services.
